Classical molecular dynamic simulations and modeling of inverse bremsstrahlung heating in low Z weakly coupled plasmas

چکیده

Classical molecular-dynamics simulations (CMDS) have been conducted to investigate one of the main mechanisms responsible for absorption radiation by matter, namely, stimulated inverse bremsstrahlung. CMDS two components plasmas (electrons and ions) a large range electron densities temperatures, ionization Z = 1, were carried out with 2 × 10 6 particles using code LAMMPS. A parameterized model (with six adjustable constants), which encompasses most theoretical models proposed in past quantify heating rate bremsstrahlung, serves as reference comparison our simulations. results are precise enough rule elements these such coulomb logarithms depending solely upon laser pulsation ? not intensity. The constants adjusted, resulting matches all those previous literature.

Gluon Bremsstrahlung in Weakly-Coupled Plasmas

I report on some theoretical progress concerning the calculation of gluon bremsstrahlung for very high energy particles crossing a weakly-coupled quark-gluon plasma. (i) I advertise that two of the several formalisms used to study this problem, the BDMPS-Zakharov formalism and the AMY formalism (the latter used only for infinite, uniform media), can be made equivalent when appropriately formula...

Inverse Bremsstrahlung in Shocked Astrophysical Plasmas

There has recently been interest in the role of inverse bremsstrahlung, the emission of photons by fast suprathermal ions in collisions with ambient electrons possessing relatively low velocities, in tenuous plasmas in various astrophysical contexts. This follows a long hiatus in the application of suprathermal ion bremsstrahlung to astrophysical models since the early 1970s. The potential impo...

Inverse bremsstrahlung in relativistic quantum plasmas.

We study the absorption of an intense electromagnetic wave in a plasma by inverse bremsstrahlung, in the relativistic quantum regime, by using the Klein-Gordon (KG) equation. We examine the following points: (1) the solutions of the KG equation in the absence of collisions; (2) the transition probabilities between electron momentum states, and (3) the effective collision frequency in the weak a...

Structures in low-energy classical bremsstrahlung

We study classical bremsstrahlung from neutral atoms and investigate the origins of the structures in the energy dependence of the differential cross section ωdσ/dω and the asymmetry parameter a2, using soft-photon limit results in terms of elastic scattering. We show that trapping features in elastic scattering do not contribute to the structures. Rather, these structures result from the suppr...

Towards adaptive kinetic-fluid simulations of weakly ionized plasmas

This paper describes an Adaptive Mesh and Algorithm Refinement (AMAR) methodology for multi-scale simulations of gas flows and the challenges associated with extending this methodology for simulations of weakly ionized plasmas. The AMAR method combines Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR) with automatic selection of kinetic or continuum solvers in different parts of computational domains. We first re...
